Happy Ending! February 8th

Okay, so this is not the happy ending I was originally looking for, but it's happy none the less! Sadly after sitting in rice for nearly 2 days, my poor old Motorola V360 would not come back to life. So alas, I had to head over to the nearest T-Mobile store (which is actually conveniently up the block from me!) to check out some new phones. I ended up getting the Samsung Comeback in pearl white plum. I was able to keep my same number and plan. Unfortunately though, even though the SIM card in my old cell phone was not damaged, it pretty much didn't store a damn thing! So I had to re-enter numbers and I have a LOT of pictures to upload to the new phone! But the good news is, I LOVE this phone. It's easy to use, adorable, and it's basically like a mini computer and a digital camera all rolled into one!! So that means my pics will be even better quality now! :) And the best news yet, is since I've been a loyal T-Mobile customer, they gave me a $300 phone for around $60 bucks! (I have to mail in a rebate to get $50 back, but still, an amazing deal!) Here are the pics of the new phone...

Front view.

View of the phone when it is open.

All and all, as much as I miss my old phone I'm kind of glad this happened, because had it not truly been an act of God, I never would have gotten rid of it! lol And technology has come a long way in over 4 years. The texting and in general, typing is WAY easier on this phone, since you have a mini computer keyboard. Plus it's lightning fast... I'm still getting used to the camera feature though, but I decided to test out my phone tonight.

Here's my dinner...

Penne in a sauce with olive oil, red wine, and a little garlic, with sun-dried tomatoes, peas, and mushrooms. I like many versions of this dinner, and you can use anything... sherry, white wine, red wine, etc.

And Peanut...

Notice how clear these pictures are?! They really show how orange Peanut's coat is, and how white his white parts are! lol :)

He's getting to be such a big boy now... he's almost 11 months old!!! Where did the time go?!

Thanks for all the well wishes on my phone fiasco. Luckily though, I think it turned out for the best. You know, I'm not one to handle change well. I don't like it and I avoid it when I can. I'm not one of these people who runs to the Apple store to be the first one in line whenever Steve Jobs unveils a new gadget. I'm the type of person that only gets a new gadget when my old one breaks down! lol

What type of person are you when it comes to all the new technology out there?

P.S. ~ I forgot to mention the Superbowl! I'm happy the Saints won, being that one of my best friends is from New Orleans, plus Reggie Bush is hot! :)

Wow, that's a glitzy new phone there! I'm really not the kind who goes jumping for new gadgets, either. First is price, but also I don't like to have to deal with getting used to the new program, etc. I'm just technologically-challenged!

^^ I know what you mean. I almost dread getting used to something new more than anything else! But the funny thing is, despite how fancy it looks, an idiot could use it! (I am proof!) lol

Yay for new phones! I used to keep mine forever, but I've had a string of bad luck recently and have gone through 4 in a little more than a year...bad I know! Peanut is adorable! They do grow up fast, I remember when mine were kittens and now they're 10!

^^4 phones in one year?! I can't imagine the cost of that, not to mention all the trouble! What happened?? :(

Hi, I just found your blog and wanted to say that I absolutely adore your cat! He's beautiful.

And I know how you feel about the whole change thing with your phone. I'm the same way. I absolutely will not get a new piece of technology unless my whatever-it-is is absolutely trashed :)

Tra ~ You can get good deals on phones now... most places are practically giving them away because they want customers so badly!

I'm glad you're taking it easy now hun!

Jessie ~ Thanks so much! He is a beauty. :)

I just found your blog too and I love your cat, he is so beautiful. My boy Sabby died about 3 years ago now and I miss him so so much. He was 13 1/2 and he was my baby. He was pretty sick at the end. I love looking at pictures of other cats because we can't have a cat here :-(

But when we buy a house sometime this year, I am getting two kitties. As for you questions, I love new gadgets. In saying that though, I have a BlackBerry and not an iPhone. I love it. I used to always buy new phones but now I don't. I love the one I've got. I really like the look of yours though, very stylish!

I like your blog by the way

Love the new phone..and your pics do look so clear! I'm on of those people who gets a new phone whenever my contract allows it..usually 1 to 2 years haha. I get sick of things too fast but it usually doesn't cost anything.

Sarah ~ So sorry about your cat! I lost my cat Cloudy in May 2008 to stomach cancer. He was only 11 1/2, which is the youngest I've ever lost a cat. You can read about it under "Cloudy" in my blog. So I know how hard it is! Let me know when you get the new kitties! I'd love to see pics!! :)

Serena ~ Thanks!

Missy ~ It's funny, because I waited so long to upgrade, they gave me a HUGE discount! So I guess the saying is true, "good things come to those who wait!" Which is funny, because I'm usually impatient, but I guess I'm not with technology! lol

Great new phone and it's great that the loyalty to t-mobile paid off. I've been with t-mobile for years too and never saw any reason to change. Maybe they'll give me a new phone.
Your photos look great and Peanut looks even cuter.

Taylor ~ You can upgrade your phone with them after a year or two I believe. You still have to pay an $18 upgrade fee, but they give you a big discount on the phone.

i know it can be such a pain to let go of an old phone. i had a motorola too and i only let go of it when it got stolen and my dad bought me my now blackberry. but i still miss my old phone sometimes!

Neela ~ Sorry someone stole your phone! :( That's one of my worst fears actually! But that was nice of your Dad to buy you a new one. My phone is similar to a Blackberry, only probably a little less complex.

the phone is cute!
i'm not really the techno-geek, my husband is. he gets so excited he buys me stuff, and i "reluctantly" use them.

I like gadgets, but they're not a huge part of my life. I like to keep things balanced, and to use slightly older technology that I'm familiar with.

Peanut is so beautiful! Her sweet little look reminds me of when I got my cat Stripey in first grade!

Lynn ~ I don't know why that is, but men definitely seem to be more "techno geeks" (as you put it!) than women. I do love this phone though. It's awesome and SO easy to use!

Caronae ~ You want to know something funny? I had a orange cat toy (a stuffed animal) that looked a lot like Peanut that I also named Stripey when I was around first grade age! lol

Sweet sexy new phone! My plan expired in AUGUST and I still haven't managed to get a new one.

Katie ~ I highly recommend this one! I'm totally amazed by it thus far! :) So if your plan expired in August, what are you using now??
