Blog Award & Lunch Meet-up! July 21st

Just a quick post today, but yesterday I was informed that my blog won an award! I'm especially pleased about this one because my blog was chosen as one of the top eating disorder blogs! And I'm always so happy to hear that it's helped anyone struggling with or trying to overcome an eating disorder, because I know how hard it is! You can see a complete list of winners here, but here's the award!

So thanks to Emma and Dennis, who chose to recognize my blog! It's always appreciated!

(Oh and Peanut thanks you too! ;)

Today I went to lunch with my friend Melissa at our usual spot, Sea Thai Bistro in the Meatpacking District.

I got their spring rolls, which tasted pretty much the same, but were presented differently than other times.

And for my entree I got my usual favorite, broad rice noodles with tofu.

We had a good time as always! They were filming something up the block from us, so we checked it out after lunch, but unfortunately we saw no celebrities. :( Still, they are ALWAYS shooting something in the Meatpacking District and we've both seen various celebrities down there!

Also, I've complete my guest post for Maggie's blog and it should be up sometime next week! And I wish her and Bobby all the best for their wedding this Saturday!!! :)

Oh, and please wish Caronae well! She just had a major health scare. Luckily she is alright though!!

First of all, congratulations on the award! That's so cool.

Secondly, thanks for your sweet comment and shout out. I feel pretty good right now! :) Hopefully this never comes back.

I see celebritires/filming a lot in the city. Apparently Richard Gere used to live in my building!

^^No problem! I'm just glad you're okay!

That's cool about Richard Gere! I've seen so many celebrities since moving to Manhattan!

The award is well deserved! I only recognize a few of the other ones, but now I want to go check out the others I've never found before. This community of recovery is so wonderful! I wish I had found it a lot sooner.

I'm pathetic. I've never seen a celebrity :( Well, except for at a handfull of concerts, but no actors. Who have you seen????

<3 Tori

^^Aww, you're not pathetic. Check under the blog index, I have a "celebs I've seen" link. I have a better list there, but I've seen people like Jimmy Fallon, Anderson Cooper, people from Saturday Night Live, etc. to the more rare sightings like Joaquin Phoenix and Heath Ledger (before he passed away). It's just common here because there are so many celebs. Funny though, when I lived in LA, I NEVER saw celebrities! It's too spread out, that's why! lol

Congrats on the award! You always have such delicious eats and embrace delicious food- I can see why they chose you! I heard they were filming Gossip Girl in Chelsea recently, so maybe that's the commotion you saw!

Marina said...

^^Thanks hun!!

They film Gossip Girl all over the place-- mostly downtown though. We were in the Meatpacking District though... that's where they seem to do a lot of modeling shoots.

Have you tried the row of Thai restaurant in Hell's Kitchen? Or you should venture out into Queens for this authentic Thai place. :)

Marina said...

^^No, I haven't! I'm not usually in Hell's Kitchen, but I will definitely look into it!
