I'm going up to the hair salon today... I'm actually trying out a new one... Roy Teeluck. I'll be stopping for lunch in an Italian restaurant that's participating in NYC's Restaurant Week (which has been extended through Labor Day!!) too, so just a small breakfast today...
Breakfast:
I had a glass of OJ & a Clif Mojo Dipped PB & J Bar.
Lunch:
I went to an Italian restaurant called Nino's Tuscany (at 58th & 6th). They had a prefix lunch for $24.07 for restaurant week. That included an appetizer, entree, and dessert. So here's my review...
For my appetizer I had "Ribollitta," which is a vegetable soup. While this didn't have much flavor, it really was the perfect appetizer, because it was very light. I didn't finish it though.
Of course, I couldn't help but get the Rigatoni Alla Vodka for my entree. It was good, but I've had better vodka sauce... perhaps my love affair with "alla vodka" is over?! ;( I only had about half of this.
I deliberately saved room for dessert. I got the cheesecake. Now I never met a cheesecake I didn't like... until now! :( This cheesecake just didn't taste very good... not at all like the cheesecake I'm used to! (I'll have to go over to Trader Joe's to get my cheesecake fix-- now I bet their's is GOOD.) Again, I didn't finish this either.
I left this restaurant feeling satisfied, but not at all full. And I wish I spent the nearly $30 (with tax and tip) elsewhere. The restaurant was empty too... goes to show you how bad this economy really is, because it really was a lovely restaurant in many ways, but the food definitely could have been better.
As far as my hair appointment goes... Russ (my colorist) was very nice (as was everyone at the Roy Teeluck salon) and my hair really looks gorgeous. It's the perfect shade of blonde. My hair was already blonde, but now it's more of an all-over blonde shade. I chose this salon because I happened across a "25% off on Mondays with Russ" coupon at Citysearch. (So if you are interested in taking advantage of this, click here!) The coupon is good until the end of the month, and Russ is a top colorist (especially good for blondes!). Anyways, I took some pictures... although the lighting doesn't do my hair any justice! It looks more strawberry blonde in the pics, when it's really a softer more honey colored blonde.
Snack:
Usually when I have a big lunch out, I skip my afternoon snack. But not today! (I must have not eaten that much afterall...) After I got back from the hair salon I was pretty hungry. So I had a Mickey's Milk Chocolate Crispie Bar that I got at the Disney store today. (I picked up a lot of cute things there... including an adorable cat bowl for Peanut!! :)
Peanut looking at Mummy adoringly while I cook dinner...
Dinner:
I had 2 Trader Joe's vegetable egg rolls with some Trader Joe's vegetable fried rice and a bit of soy sauce on the side. I also had 2 small pieces of Mom's breaded eggplant (not pictured).
Dessert:
I had a VitaBrownie topped with Nutella, with some berries & whipped cream alongside.
I'll leave you tonight with some cute pictures I got of Peanut sleeping earlier...
