Possible Tragedy! :( February 6th

My beloved cell phone, the same one that I've had since November 2005, the same one that I use to take all my pictures with, somehow got mixed up in the laundry today, so it ended up going in the washer! :( So now it's drying out in a bag of rice... which is a trick that's supposed to help dry out the phone so I could still use it! So keep your fingers crossed!! I LOVE that phone and I really don't want to have to get another one. And today's mishap was just an extra kick while I was down, being that I now have a head cold too! :( I was able to at least catch up with an old friend from High School yesterday and have dinner at Chat 'n Chew before I started to feel really sick. I've got all my usual herbal meds, so I hope I start feeling better soon. I swear, I don't think I've felt good for more than 3 consecutive days in the past 3 months!

Anyways, here are some of the pictures I was able to upload before the fiasco with my phone! Let's hope that these aren't the last pictures from my phone! :(

A Trader Joe's chocolate lava cake with whipped cream. These lava cakes are AMAZING! Better than what you'd get in a restaurant, only WAY cheaper!

Another lunch at Wild Ginger... and this time I tried a new item off their menu!

First I had their awesome spring rolls... they came with a little garnish on them for some reason, but they were the same great-tasting spring rolls that I always get when I go there.

Instead of my usual steamed veggie dumplings, I decided to try their shumai, which are japanese-style spinach dumplings. They came with similar sauce, and were just as good as the dumplings I always get... in fact I almost prefer these better!

And of course, my beloved pineapple fried rice! This is truly my favorite thing to eat, and it's amazingly good for you too!

I love to finish off this meal with a vegan chocolate chip cookie from Whole Foods (warmed up in the microwave, of course!).

Luckily I was able to get some really cute pics of Peanut in the laundry (before the phone fiasco). Here they are!

That's all for today, wish me luck!

P.S. ~ Does anyone know what happened to the Peanut Butter Bliss blog again?! :(

Daily Eats ~ July 31st

Luckily I was able to sleep later than yesterday! When I got up I made one of my favorites-- Nutella french toast! It really tastes like something you'd get for brunch at a fancy restaurant. I also want to remind everyone that I'll be posting whatever FAQ's I get tomorrow. So if you have any questions for me, now's the time to ask! Send them to: marinajc@rcn.com or post your FAQ in the comments section. :)

Breakfast:
I took 2 slices of Trader Joe's french toast, spread a thin layer of Nutella on one of the slices, made a sandwich out of it, then I cut it in half and topped with a drizzle of maple syrup and berries. I also had an apple juice box with it (not pictured).

Peanut's morning nap...

Lunch:
I've been seeing these on lots of other blogs recently, so I decided to make them again... english muffin pizzas! But mine have a twist... I made english muffin VODKA pizzas!! I took a Rudi's Organic whole wheat english muffin and topped it with Muir Glen's new vodka pasta sauce and some Organic Valley part skim shredded mozzarella. These came out pretty good in the toaster oven, although next time I'll toast the english muffins first to make them crispier! I had some orange slices alongside.

I also had a Trader Joe's 100 calorie milk chocolate bar after lunch...

Snack:
I had a Clif Mojo Dipped PB & J Bar (personally I think this one is FAR superior to the new PB & J Larabar... but to each their own!).

Dinner:
I had 2 of Trader Joe's Vegetable Egg Rolls with some of Trader Joe's Vegetable Fried Rice (this has been a very Trader Joe's themed day... lol). I just added in some of my own soy sauce to complete the meal.

Dessert:
I had my other Trader Joe's Chocolate Lava Cake (they come in a package of 2, and I had so many other Trader Joe's products today, I thought, why not?!). I tried to show feature the "lava" part in the picture. :) I also had some berries and whipped cream alongside like usual.

I have my FAQ list almost complete... so if you have any other questions for me about my blog, ED questions, Peanut questions, or anything else, feel free to ask away!

I'll leave you tonight with a picture of Peanut "on the prowl." (Notice the flattened ears... lol)

Daily Eats ~ July 30th

I woke up bright and early this morning (at 5:15!) because I slept so much last night. Luckily I feel better now and Peanut was thrilled that I was up so early! He frisked around so much that he tired me back out again. lol Thanks for the well wishes on my blog yesterday... anyone who's ever had a migraine knows how terrible they are! I even threw up last night for the first time in 3 years. (I thank God that throwing up does not come easily to me however, or I'm sure I would have become bulimic at some point... I was definitely heading that way.) So I woke up super hungry too-- undoubtedly I'll be eating more today for sure!

Breakfast:
I had 2 Van's Belgian Waffles topped with maple syrup, dollops of whipped cream, and berries alongside. And I had lots of orange juice with it!

Being that I got up so early, I decided to make the most of it. I went to Union Square to make the rounds... Petco, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's. I'm so stocked up on food now, I won't have to shop for weeks! Which is a good thing, considering you practically need a mask and an oxygen tank to go outside! lol

Mid-morning snack:
I got the new peanut butter & jelly Larabar at the Whole Foods Market today (yes, I practically live there! lol). I'm usually not a fan of Larabars, but I thought this one was pretty good.

Lunch:
I had some organic stuffed mushrooms from The Organic Grill (that I got delivered yesterday from a NY grocery company called Organic Direct) on a bed of Green Giant's rice pilaf. This was really tasty and the two went well together (there were mushrooms in the pilaf too). I also had a Trader Joe's 100 calorie milk chocolate bar after lunch (not pictured).

Peanut's nap was short lived today, but he looked like an angel while it lasted! :)

Snack:
I had half of a Whole Foods granola bar (it was so huge I couldn't even finish the half of it!) with a Wallaby Organic berries & cream "down under" yogurt (these are terrific btw... if only the yogurt was thicker, like greek yogurt, then they would be perfect!).

Believe it or not, but Peanut really seemed to like the granola bar! I only let him have a tiny bit though.

Dinner:
I had Trader Joe's Garden Vegetable Lasgne with some cut up oranges. (I LOVE their lasagna!)

Dessert:
I picked up one of my favorites at Trader Joe's today... their amazing chocolate lava cake! Just 45 seconds in the microwave and it's perfection! I garnished it with strawberries and whipped cream too.

Peanut was thrown off his schedule today because of me getting up at 5 a.m.! So he's sleeping now with Pellet (the beanie baby that bares a striking resemblance to him :).

I think I definitely made up for the lack of food yesterday! It didn't help that I woke up at the crack of dawn either (since you eat more the longer you are awake!). But the key is really eating when your hungry, and eating what you really want to-- and I do both now. I have to admit, a lot of those ED thoughts and feelings are still there, but I have to remember that I'm doing the right thing and that no one is a BAD person for eating! Which brings me to another point... I don't know why society is so hard on women when it comes to eating what they want. Why are women always supposed to be on a diet? Be hungry? Skip dessert? While men stuff their fat faces with steak and beer! (Not all men obviously, but you know... just take a look at a lot of commercials!) There is definitely a double standard, no?

Daily Eats ~ June 14th

Breakfast:
I had my last 2 Van's Belgian Waffles topped with maple syrup, berries, and Cool Whip. I also had an Apple & Eve apple juice box alongside.

Lunch:
I had an Amy's Spinach Feta in a Pocket Sandwich with an apple.

After lunch I had some of these cute chocolate filled panda cookies that I found today...

Peanut on the table after finishing his red snapper "Petite Cuisine" for lunch (his favorite).

Snack:
A Clif Mojo Dipped PB&J Bar.

Peanut's afternoon nap...

Dinner:
I had an Amy's Stuffed Pasta Shells Bowl for dinner and I added in my own frozen peas that I got from Whole Foods. This was a very good combination together!

Dessert:
I should've had a yogurt, but I was craving something more chocolately. So I decided to have my last Trader Joe's Chocolate Lava Cake. I topped it with some Cool Whip and had a few berries alongside. This seriously tastes better than chocolate lava cakes that I've had in restaurants. And it takes only 45 seconds in the microwave too! It is very rich, and my stomach isn't thanking me for it, but my God it was good! It's a nice way to end a weekend, that's for sure. :)

Peanut says "Good Night!"

Any suggestions of what you would like to see more of in my daily eats posts?

I would love to hear your feedback!

Daily Eats ~ June 11th

I got up early on this rainy (again!) Thursday morning to go to Trader Joe's. I got 2 boxes of their amazing french toast and 2 of their organic maple syrup's (hey, I was stocking up!!), box of 2 chocolate lava cakes (haven't tried these yet, but I'm dying to!), 2 Fage 0% yogurts (which almost taste better than 2% if you ask me!), a spinach and mushroom quiche, package of light string cheese, mushroom noodle soup, and another box of low fat granola with almonds!

Breakfast:
I had a Naked Juice "Bare Breeze" juice before I left for the store. This Peach Mangosteen Bliss flavor is the best one I've tried yet!

When I got home I had a Clif Mojo Dipped Peanut Butter & Jelly bar.

Lunch:
I sort of broke lunch into 2 parts today as well as breakfast... So, for "part one" I had Trader Joe's Spinach & Mushroom Quiche. Yes, this is loaded with fat and calories, but I was really craving something like this. I didn't eat a lot of the crust though! :/

For "part two" I had Trader Joe's Mushroom Rice Noodle Soup Bowl. This was pretty good, but a little too spicy/salty for my taste. (And I didn't add the little oil packet that comes with it. I found that to be too gross. Hey, I'm trying though!)

Peanut messing with the mushroom soup box!

Snack:
I had some apple slices and 2 Trader Joe's Organic Light String Cheese Sticks (which Peanut and I both enjoyed!). I also already got my July issue of InStyle in the mail today! Is it just me or does anyone else find it a bit insulting that InStyle still features $1000+ bags in these tough economic times?! (I also had a big teaspoon of Nutella as an afternoon pick-me-up - not pictured.)

Dinner:
I heated up the rest of my Trader Joe's Vegetable Fried Rice (because I was pretty hungry) and had an Amy's Teriyaki Wrap with it. I guess I made too much rice, because I got full pretty quickly, so I ended up only having around half of this meal.

Dessert:
I tried one of my Trader Joe's Chocolate Lava Cakes... OMG, this was AMAZING! I topped it with a bit of Cool Whip and a sliced strawberry.

And here's a picture I just took of Peanut (in action!), going to town on Pellet, the Beanie Baby that I gave him.

Today wasn't a good day food wise... at least, I'm not happy about it. That dessert was definitely worth it though! Again, thanks to those who follow my blog! Feel free to contact me anytime with any questions, comments, or suggestions, also if you suffer from an eating disorder and need someone to talk to! xoxo
