Daily Eats ~ June 6th

I'm making a run to Petco this morning to get more food for Peanut. I slept pretty late for me these days (10:30), so I'm getting a later start than usual. Still, it was nice to sleep for a change! :)

Breakfast:
Similar to yesterday morning, I had 2 slices of the delicious Trader Joe's French Toast (which is nearly perfect right out of the box... great texture, real french toast, just needs to be heated in the toaster oven for a few minutes and it tastes like it's homemade!), with Trader Joe's fabulous maple syrup, a few berries, and a glass of OJ!

Lunch:
I had a late lunch as well... on my way back from Petco (and other errands) I got a Nantucket Nectars Pineapple Orange Guava juice! This brings me back to the summer of 1996 when I went to Nantucket with my Mom and Grandparents. We drank a lot of these there!

Then when I got home I had an Amy's Mac N' Cheese Kids Meal... it came with broccoli and apple turnovers... yum! I figured since it was a kids meal, I might as well put it on a kiddy plate! lol

Peanut enjoyed it too :)

Snack:
I had a Fage 2% cherry yogurt with some Trader Joe's granola with almonds.

Peanut's afternoon nap...

He's sleeping in the toy box I made him out of one of my shoe boxes. :) As you can see he has plenty of toys!

Dinner:
I tried Trader Joe's Mushroom Risotto tonight... I wasn't wild about it, and only ate about half, so I cooked up a veggie dog to have with it. Overall, I didn't really like this dinner. Oh well though, I'm sure I'll like dessert later! ;)
(I also had an orange after dinner - not pictured)

Dessert:
Dessert DEFINITELY made up for dinner! I had a Trader Joe's Chocolate Souffle. It was absolutely incredible! I topped it with a bit of fat free Cool Whip and a single raspberry (just for a fancy touch!). Actually, here in Manhattan you'd pay at least $1o for this dessert, so I think it's a steal! Now how amazing does that look?!

Daily Eats ~ June 5th

It is very rainy out today, and it's not supposed to stop anytime soon! So I guess I'll just be staying in and cleaning. Anyways, I got some cute pictures of Peanut last night that I wanted to share!

Please forgive my pajamas in the above picture! lol
Now on to...

Breakfast:
I had 2 pieces of Trader Joe's French Toast with their own 100% Pure Maple Syrup (I finally got the real kind!!), topped with lots of berries, and an Apple & Eve apple juice box to drink. This was a delicious breakfast that I'll be making again very soon (probably tomorrow!).

Lunch:
I heated up the rest of my pineapple fried rice from Wild Ginger and had an orange with it (not pictured).

Snack:
I had a Clif Fruit & Nut bar with a side of peanut butter.

Dinner:
I tried Trader Joe's Pasta Italiano with Eggplant & Zucchini. I also added a bit of Mom's grated cheese on top. This was a very good vegetarian dish... it makes for a quick and easy dinner!

Snack:
I decided to make a yogurt parfait... I used my last WholeSoy & Co. vanilla soy yogurt, Trader Joe's Lowfat Granola, some berries, and just a dash of maple syrup on top! (I've seen this on other blogs and it made ALL the difference!) WholeSoy & Co. does make the best soy yogurt out there, but I still prefer real yogurt... nothing tops Fage in my opinion! I also had a few more Trader Joe's Cafe Twists-- just 30 cals per pastry! (Not pictured)

The finished product...

And finally, a pic I took tonight of my little buddy...

Here's Peanut with Syrup, my big teddy bear that I got at FAO Schwarz years ago. :)

There is still a part of me that feels "too fat" to be eating all of this. I want to try to lose weight in a healthy way, by eating healthy, balanced meals and allowing myself to indulge a little here and there. I fear that it won't work for me though... What do you do to overcome these thoughts/feelings?

Daily Eats ~ June 4th

I got up early this morning to go to Trader Joe's. It was kind of nice, because I got to walk with Mom to her job (since it was in the same direction). There is only 1 Trader Joe's in all of Manhattan, as opposed to 5, soon-to-be 6 Whole Foods Markets! So if you don't get there within the first hour or two of it's opening, be prepared for the worst lines you've ever seen in your life! Anyways, my grocery shopping is finally done for the week and I got myself a very nice haul! :)

Breakfast:
Since I was in a rush this morning, I just had a glass of orange juice and a Kashi coffee cake bar.

Lunch:
For lunch I tried Trader Joe's Penne Pasta with Creamy Vodka Marinara Sauce. I absolutely LOVE Penne with Vodka Sauce at restaurants, so I was hoping it would taste similar to what I was used to...

Unfortunately it just tasted like regular, mediocre pasta. I really had high hopes for this one, because it looked so promising! But even though I followed the instructions to a tee, the pasta came out soggy and I couldn't taste the vodka sauce at all! (Unlike this place I tried in the West Village last month... now that's Penne with Vodka Sauce!)

Maybe it was the lack of protein or a small breakfast, but I was still really hungry, so I made a veggie cheese dog! I microwaved one of my jumbo veggie dogs and put a few strips of american cheese in it. It may look gross, but it tasted delicious!

And here's Peanut taking a nap between my legs this afternoon...

Snack:
I decided to make a yogurt parfait with a Fage Total 2% Peach Yogurt & some Trader Joe's Low Fat Granola with Almonds...

And voila!

Dinner:
I found this entree at Whole Foods yesterday... it's from an organic company called "Seeds of Change." I had their Turkish Seven Grain Pilaf. It was really good! I've had it once before, but a long time ago, and I forgot how much I liked it. I also had an orange after dinner (not pictured).

Dessert:
I bought this awesome strawberry shortcake from Trader Joe's today. I couldn't wait to have a piece! My only gripe is that this cake is TINY.

I had two pieces, as they were very small. Here's what the cake looks like on the inside... very little cake, mostly whipped cream, but very tasty! This is a great light dessert to share with two people (in my case, I shared mine with Mom!).

I also had some of my Trader Joe's Cafe Twists with it (not pictured).

I figured I'd finish the day with a picture of Peanut sleeping on top of his carrier (which he LOVES).

Today wasn't so good food wise, and I was pretty hungry all day. I'm going to aim at being healthier, although I do believe that it's okay to have dessert or a treat every day. I just want to keep it healthy at least 90% of the time. Please keep the comments coming and let me know how I'm doing!
