Blog Dinner Part Deux ~ October 10th

Without further adieu, I present to you a list of the lovely bloggers that I dined with yesterday at Quantum Leap! (Again, thanks to Olga for e-mailing everyone this list & picture!!)

Melissa ~ Missy Maintains

{And of course the whole dinner was arranged by Ellen from Inside I'm Still Dancing, but she unfortunately couldn't attend!}

Here's the picture of all of us together that a very nice waitress took! :)

Today I made a trip down to Whole Foods... the subway lines are all f'ed up this weekend, and I had to end up going on quite a hike to get to the Bowery Whole Foods! It was okay though, because it was so nice out today. I was really hungry by the time I got downtown though, so I stopped in Pomodoro to get a slice of pizza and a Pepsi. I didn't bother taking pictures of it, since I have before (you can see here).

On my way home in the cab I had one of the Whole Foods Market's delicious chocolate chip cookies.

And when I got home Peanut helped me make my bed! :)

Some sleepy time pics...

That's all I have time for today guys! I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Blog Dinner ~ October 9th

So tonight was the big blog dinner at Quantum Leap (to be clear, we went to the one in the West Village on Thompson St., not the one in the East Village on 1st Ave.). We had a great time too, but sadly the organizer of this event, Ellen, couldn't join us!! She got hurt at the last minute... nothing super serious, but she wasn't able to make it. :( We all felt really bad about it, and I definitely plan on getting together with her to go to Wild Ginger before she leaves... I'm going to try to organize a blog lunch or dinner there soon, so if you are in the NYC area and want to join us, drop me a line!! I hope that some of the lovely bloggers that I met tonight can join us too! Within the next few days I'll be posting a list of everyone who was at the dinner (7 of us total) and links to their blogs (like last time). I did see two familiar faces though from the Candle 79 blog dinner last June... both Olga (HealthingIt) and Katie (Lil Veggie Patch). We all really enjoyed our dinners this time though. I have heard nothing but good things about Quantum Leap, and it didn't disappoint!

I was the only person to get an appetizer... I cannot pass up spring rolls, and these were very good! (I was so hungry I ate my way through half of one before taking the picture! lol)

For my main course I had dumplings with soba noodles. This was pretty good as well.

After dinner some of us went to a cool self serve yogurt place (which is also in the village) called Yogurtland. Now I could practically give a NYC tour of frozen yogurt places, but somehow had never heard of or have been to this one! This place is pretty neat... I got both cheesecake and cookies & cream frozen yogurt, and topped it with some oreo cookie crumbs... yum!

And for those of you asking to see my hair (after my salon appointment yesterday), I remembered to take a pic before I left for the dinner... It's basically just a little blonder than it was... I had a whole bunch of highlights put in (and to think my hair used to be this color naturally when I was little... sigh... lol).

And here's your daily dose of Peanut! (Oh and that's Mom in her nightgown in the background. lol)

Part two of the blog dinner is coming soon, because Olga (God bless her!) has taken it upon herself to e-mail all of us a list of the bloggers with their blogs. Anyways, we had a fun evening and we missed you Ellen! Feel better!! xo

Uptown Girl ~ October 8th

When my boyfriend said to me the other day, "so what color is your hair?" I knew that something had to be done! lol So I made a salon appointment promptly! I headed uptown to the salon this afternoon, and ran some errands up there as well....

First things first I wanted some lunch... just a simple slice of pizza... so I stopped in an Italian place called Angleo's Pizza. Turns out though, it was a sit-down restaurant and the only pizza I could get was if I ordered a whole pie! Since I was starving I ended up ordering a pasta dish instead... just penne with tomato sauce, spinach, and mozzarella. It was REALLY good.

I decided to splurge on something at Bergdorf Goodman today... As a makeup artist, I can tell you that when it comes to makeup, there is almost nothing better than La Mer. So I've been dying to try their new concealer... The cost is shocking, but their stuff is worth every penny.

After my hair appointment I was really craving some chocolate. I was by Henri Bendel's anyway, so I figured, why not go to one of my favorite places, their chocolate bar?! As you'll recall I went there a couple of months ago and got my favorite... a chocolate covered peanut butter crispie treat! (You can see my post here.) So you can imagine my shock and horror when I discovered that the they've CLOSED the chocolate bar!! :(

To fill the void, I went up the block to FAO Schwarz and got one of my favorite chocolate bars there... the wonka bar!! They are really hard to find, and I was so pleased that I found them, I got 2! I took a picture of it in the cab ride home.

Milk chocolate with graham cracker pieces... yum!

I took some pics of Peanut when I got home, but unfortunately I forgot to take pics of my hair! It came out great, but Peanut is still cuter! :)

Tomorrow I'm attending another blog dinner, so please remember to check back!
