I posted late last night about my Grandpa's surgery today... I'm still waiting to hear how it went (it was at 7:30 am). So I'm obviously very anxious about that... I'm keeping my fingers crossed! I'll let you know how it goes!
Breakfast:
I had a Van's Belgian Waffle topped with Fage 0% yogurt, berries, and TJ's maple syrup. I also had a glass of OJ with it (not pictured).
Peanut drinking out of the water faucet this morning! (He's an anomaly-- a cat who loves the water!)
Update: My Uncle called to let me know that Grandpa made it through surgery okay. So hopefully he'll make a full recovery. But being that he's 85, he's not out of the woods yet! Luckily though, they were able to do the procedure using stents, unlike last time when they had to do open heart surgery (back in 2005).
Lunch:
I got a whole wheat bagel from Murray's, and when I got home I topped it with 2 slices of swiss cheese and a bit of mustard. I had a Mott's Peach Medley apple sauce with it as well. I thought the whole wheat bagel was just as good as the plain I usually get, and it's healthier too (which is always a good thing)!
Snack:
I tried these new Pepperidge Farm Crunchy Granola cookies that I got at the grocery store today... I got the Dark Chocolate Almond ones. I had about 1 and a 1/2 cookies, as one was broken and I didn't finish them both. I also had some organic skim milk with it. I was hoping I'd like these cookies better since they are "whole grain" and all, but I thought that they were just okay.
Dinner:
I had an Egg Beaters Southwestern Style omelette with Birds Eye Steamfresh asparagus, corn, and baby carrots. I added a little soy sauce to it as well for more flavor.
I also had a Trader Joe's 100 calorie milk chocolate bar later after dinner (not pictured).
Dessert:
I had one of my fabulous chocolate Vitabrownies(!), topped with Nutella, with strawberries and whipped cream alongside.
(I have a serious addiction to chocolate, folks! lol)
Peanut was being so cute tonight... he's such a playful little buster! Here's a pic I took of him earlier, resting on top of his carrier (like usual!).
Things are going well with my Grandfather (Thank God), and he should be leaving the hospital on Sunday. Thanks for the well wishes, I really appreciate them!
